I started playing in the mid-sixties. I was lucky enough to attend the old Union Grove fiddlers convention and got hooked. My first band was a group called the Bluegrass Band. Garland Shuping Jack Lawrence Terry Baucom David Whittington Jeff Whittington I moved on to the Bluegrass Gentlemen from there and then to the Arthur Smith T.V. Show as a staff musician playing all 5-string banjo and pedal steel guitar from 1972 to the end of the syndication run in 1980 on Major Markets T.V. stations in the south.
